STITCHING OF THE QUADARANT

the process of our facing a group project

The knitting and putting together

The final out come...

the knitted class face
The actual class face

This is what  336 knitted blocks look like. This is 2 weeks of sweat put in one. We are so happy with the out come of our  class face.

  1. A brief biography, no more than 3 sentences

My name is Sihle Goniwe. The best way that i can describe myself is that i am a very impatient person but i'd believe that im kind. I enjoy spending time with my friends and sometimes  I enjoy being alone and watching movies and I have a love for art and design.

  1. Documentation of your knitting thus far, the various stitches you have made.

This stitch is a plain and the garter then you repeat the pattern.

    1. What motivates you to perform in the group? [personally motivated or sense of responsibility toward the group]

The final  end product of an assignment or project is my motivation. It drives me to      work hard to the best of my ability in order to meet the requirements of the brief.

               b. What is knitting teaching you about yourself?

Knitting has taught me to be very patient with myself and others because we dont all work in the same pace and we dont usually get things right the first time around so we need to practice all the time.

               c. What are you learning about yourself by being in a group?

I have discovered that i dont really enjoy working in a group because sometimes there can be conflict or tasks are not executed the way I want which might be a result of poor communication.

              d. how do you deal with people you find challenging?

I dont like telling people what their responsibilities are within  the group, so I just tend to keep to myself and do what is needed.

             e. Include the images of yourself that I have sent you

Biography: Hlumelo

1.       I’m Hlumelo Joxo im 19 years old studying surface design in Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT).  I am a person who likes having fun and laughter and not stressing too much about life.

The connection and the communicating with the people in my group makes me feel comfortable  I even have some challenging things that are quiet difficult to my ability and seeing my group doing them motivates me to push harder than what I can actually do but I am willing to learn and overcoming my weaknesses.
v  ]
Knitting teaches me that I have so many hidden skills within myself but I just have to find them and I found them and one of them is knitting.
i It shows my communicating skills and the skill of doing things as a collective and I get to feel all the pressure of being in a group but I don’t handle it alone I have people to actually help me to tackle these issues.
v
I get to sit down with them and talk with them in a more one on one discussion that needs more listening and actually get to find out more about them and what could be the cause of them being challenge.

The face outcome

This is what our final design is starting to look like. All four groups are adding their quadrants and this all together will make up our class face.
